Sony's shiny new social gaming platform launched on PSN this month, bringing the PS3 in line with the 360 and its new Avatar led experience. Playstation Home's more realistic feel has drawn comparisons with MMO Second Life, but its a much more game-focused experience with an emphasis on meeting likeminded gamers, playing together and areas themed around Sony's biggest hits.


Sony has always resisted slashing the price of the PS3, refuting any rumours as hearsay-even a recent whisper that prices were to be slashed in March was mercilessly shot down. However given the current climate and the relative cheapness of the 360 and Wii consoles it would appear inevitable that the most powerful console on the market must be sold at a more competitive price.


Sony are hoping to crack the console massively multiplayer online (MMO) game market this year. With exclusive titles such as DC Universe Online and The Agency in the works they might just do it too. Crucially, both games are action focused rather than RPG's making them more appealing to hardcore gamers not accustomed to keyboards, grinding and the complete works of JRR Tolkien.

I think that sony are concentrating on the wrong things, they are seemingly blind to the real picture. They have spent huge amounts of time on making "Home", which was a big failure, and is also in my opinion one of the most pointless things ever developed. The playstation doesnt need it, they need to fix the problems that they already have. My PS3 crashes almost one time every day and it freezes at every available oppitunity.

im with you on that Sont are blind Cornsy. Home in my eyes is just a waste of space and they are far more things that Sony have to sort out before releasing these poor games/spcial chats!!!!

They are just trying to make a wuick profit instead of giving the consumers what they want.

Buy an xbox with the new Jasper motherboard - very reliable.

Microsft sorted out their problem of red rings. Sony need to follow in microsofts footsteps.
