King completes Boro loan deal
Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate has confirmed the signing of Wigan striker Marlon King on a six-month loan deal.
The 28-year-old has spent the first half of the season on loan at Hull City where he scored five goals in 20 Premier League appearances.
Despite enjoying a largely successful period at the Tigers, King's spell ended on a sour note after a fall-out with manager Phil Brown last week cut his loan stay short.
The former Watford front man's last goal for City coincidentally came against Boro in a 2-1 win at the KC Stadium.
"We have an agreement with Wigan and with the lad (King) that he should join us over the weekend on a six-month loan deal until the end of the season," Southgate confirmed.
Wigan paid Watford £5million for his services in January 2008 but the Jamaica international only made eight starts, scoring one goal in the Premier League before being farmed out to Hull seven months after signing.
Middlesbrough are the striker's eighth club of his colourful career.
